The ACORN Controversy
Political Corruption, Presidential Politics September 18th, 2009The blog hotair.com links to a video from the Daily Show, which has host Jon Stewart criticizing the main stream media (MSM) for not uncovering the corruption in many ACORN offices. (Just think of all real prostitutes and pimps who now are not going to get the proper help they need to evade taxes and import under-age girls for illegal activities.)
Jon Stewart is right to criticize the MSM for not investigating ACORN. It is not like this was the first story on possible corrupt and criminal activity by this group. It seems they avoided it because of the close links between ACORN and President Obama.
This leads to a bigger problem. The function of the press is to hold politicians accountable for their actions. The Founding Fathers put freedom of the press in the First Amendment for this reason. Yet many in the media ignored the association between the corrupt ACORN and then senator Obama, both during the presidential campaign and the first nine months of the Obama administration. President Obama’s approval rating has fallen steadily since January 20. A big reason is the left-leaning policies he has advocated so far: $700 billion stimulus package; cap-and-trade; and health-care reform. Mr. Obama campaigned as a moderate even though his record as a legislator was one of a far-left liberal. Many who voted for him expected him to be a moderate and are angry now that he does not. Yet many in the MSM did everything they could to promote this message because they wanted Mr. Obama elected president.
It is worrisome that it is harder and harder to find non-partisan media outlets who want to report the news and expose the truth, regardless of who is in office.

I think we should leave ACORN alone, after all, they will be the next ruling party in U.S.A. since the conservative have proven themselves to be easy targets for the MSM.Why don’t we just avoid the hassle of paying aour taxes to the government, and send a check directly to ACORN ? Maybe a big Christmas bonus ( OOPS!! Did I say CHRIST mas ? I meant ” holiday” ) would be nice and perhaps a bit for ASLU ? After all, you don’t expect Al Franken to fund them alone do you?

It is sad that we can no longer trust the media due to all the partisan news sources who are only interested in promoting thier ideas. The American people do not have reliable sources to depend on.Every bit of news we hear must be researched for truth and it is becoming harder and harder to find a truthful source.
