Catholic Campaign For Human Development

Catholic Church, Economics, Presidential Politics No Comments »

Yesterday the Archdiocese of Washington held a second collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).  The main purpose of CCHD is to provide grants to organizations who help the poor and those who need assistance with housing, medical treatments, etc.
Generally I donate money to the second collection without thinking much about it.  I decided not [...]

Though I wanted Senator McCain to win, I do want to congratulate Senator Obama on being elected the 44th President of the United States.  The title of a article on National Review Online by Bill Whittle said it best on how one should act in defeat:  The only solace to be found in losing is in [...]

No Communion for Biden

Catholic Church, Presidential Politics No Comments »

According to the article in the Washington Times, Archbishop Charles Chaput states Senator Biden should not receive Holy Communion due to his pro-choice views on abortion.  As I mentioned in an earlier blog, I did not think Senator Obama would choose Sen. Biden because he would not want to revisit the controversy Senator Kerry went [...]
